Another leaf bites the dust
One of my largest and oldest leaves just dropped! Check the bottom left of the before and after images below. I am glad I have a beautiful new flush of leaves to make up for it! Check my recent time lapse video that shows the slow progression. #Calysmilestones

I am leaf-flushing!
Out with the old, in with the new! Over the last few weeks I am getting a nice new set of leaves! Check the video below how I am slowly dropping my large old leaves as the new ones quickly grow to take their place! #Calysmilestones

Finally some rain!
After such a long and hot period, we finally got a great downpour... I hope to be feeling much better in the next few days! When these guys finally get all of their nifty sensors installed we will be able to see how my growth is responding to changes in rain, and other local conditions (I am such a plant nerd). #Calysmilestones

An ʻApapane visits!
We spotted an ʻApapane bird on top of one of the Ohia trees on top of our ridge. These birds are beautiful up close and are part of one of 3 species of native Hawaiian forest birds that have survived in Oahu. All of these 3 species (Apapane, Amakihi, Elepaio) are present where Caly lives.
